The Kansas City Power & Light District is adding a new karaoke concept to the second floor space in the KC Live! block formerly occupied by the Hotel Night Club.
The new Hotel Karaoke is expected to open for private events this December and will have a grand opening in early 2019, according to a release from the P & L District.
Also at KC Live!, officials announced that No Other Pub, a sprawling club affiliated with Sporting KC, is expanding this winter, adding a 100-person capacity private event room with dramatic views of 14th Street and the KC Live@ block.
“We can’t wait to introduce Kansas City to this new addition to KC Live!” Gabriel Robinson, chief operating officer for Kansas City Live! said in a statement.
“Hotel Karaoke follows a growing trend of concepts, like No Other Pub, which offers engaging group activities from bowling to shuffle board, that people seek when looking for a fun night out.
Guests will be able to showcase their karaoke skills in an expansive main gathering area, called the Show Room, that is anchored by a signature bar, as well as eight private karaoke rooms for larger groups to reserve, according to the release.
Each karaoke room will be designed with one of the world’s great hotels as inspiration.
Designed by internationally-acclaimed Knauer Incorporated under the direction of Marc Knauer, the new venue will undergo more than $500,000 worth of expansion and renovation work of the former Hotel Night Club space including expanding into previously unfinished space.
The No Other Pub by Sporting Kansas City private event room will be modeled after the Children’s Mercy Park suite experience, with a signature bar, media wall, and large floor-to-ceiling windows, according to the release.
“This high-energy room will offer an incredible space for private parties, corporate events and special functions, as well as great game watching for Sporting KC,” according to the statement.
The private event space will be available by early spring 2019.
“As downtown continues to grow and the retail and entertainment worlds continue to evolve, we have taken great care to curate our tenant mix to create the best possible mix of local and national tenants,” Nick Benjamin, executive director of the Power & Light District.
“Hotel Karaoke and the expansion of No Other Pub are going to make downtown Kansas City a more fun place to live, work and visit.”
