Downtown Bristol Seafood Launches Expanded Menu, New Look and Name

The lounge at the refreshed and rebranded Bristol Seafood + Steak + Social has a warmer, more neighborhood welcoming vibe.

The Bristol, one of the Power & Light District’s original tenants, has expanded its food and beverage offerings, including introducing a prix fixe menu, and freshened its look.

The revamped and renamed Bristol Seafood + Steak + Social debuted Thursday with a grand re-opening at 11 a.m., according to a press release. It’s located at 51 E. 14th St.

The Bristol opened in February 2008 when the downtown restaurant scene was dormant after years of decline. Eleven years later, that fine dining scene has gotten much more competitive with the addition of places including Corvino’s, Farina, Affäre and Novel.

“The landscape of downtown has changed and is continuing to change, and as one of the original restaurants in the district, it’s exciting to be part of the ongoing evolution of the Power & Light District,” Brian Barnes, Bristol managing partner, said in a statement.

The dining room will introduce a new menu that includes expanded steak offerings including a 14-ounce Prime Kansas City Strip and a 32-ounce Prime Tomahawk Chop.

New appetizers include a Land & Sea Charcuterie, Crispy Rice Sushi and Wood-fire Grilled Artichoke Dip.

The three-course Prix-Fixe addition to the menu will offer a $45 or a $55 menu price, with a choice of entrees under each price point, according to the release.

“The new menu is much more diverse and will appeal to a wider range of guests,” Executive Chef Travis Napier said in a statement.

The bar is being given what’s described as a warmer “lounge-like vibe” with design and decor changes. New appetizers include Lobster Pizza and That’s My Fig Jam Burger.

It also will expand its offerings of local beers and spirits including Martin City Abbey Ale, Cinder Block IPA, Torn Label Alpha Pale Ale, and whiskey and bourbon from the J. Regier, Union Horse and Tom’s Town distilleries.

“Individually, the changes are subtle, it’s the combination of all the changes that we’re really excited about,” Barnes said in a statement.

Restaurant hours are Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with brunch served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Social hour at the bar, lounge and patio only is Sunday through Friday, 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
