Appetite for Downtown Living Continues, Newly Redeveloped 915 Broadway Project Nearly Full

The 915 Broadway apartment project combined two historic buildings in the Garment District.

The 915 Broadway project, a $10.5 million redevelopment of two historic buildings in the Garment District of downtown, is close to fully leased five months after it opened in June.

The 44-unit development, which combined two buildings at 911 and 915 Broadway, has four one-bedroom apartments remaining, according to its manager Erica Wright.

“People like it because it’s in the center of downtown and its small enough to know your neighbors by name, you’re not just an apartment number,” she said.

“The downtown community is booming and we’re getting a lot of people from the Kansas suburbs.”

The five-story building was developed by Yarco Development Co. The main building at 915 Broadway renovated was built in 1909 as the offices for Hershberger & Rosenthal Co. The project includes a gated, 24-space parking lot immediately south.

Rents range from $905- to $1,350 for one-bedroom uni, and from $1,164- to $1,650 for two bedroom. The project is part of a downtown apartment boom aided by the availability for conversion of older commercial buildings similar to 915 Broadway.

Amenities include a fourth floor outdoor deck that offers views of the downtown skyline. There also is a fitness center, theater, office space for tenants with free wi-fi and free washer/dryer facilities on each floor.

The first floor lounge includes a kitchen area, coffee machine, pool table and big-screen televisions.
